William “Mac” McGovern Devlin, age 71, of Brockway, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Highlandview Healthcare in Brockway following a short illness.
Born on June 16, 1954, he was the son of the late Dr. Albert Edward Devlin and Mary Elizabeth (McGovern) Devlin.
Mac was a 1972 graduate of Brockway Area High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Penn State University. He was employed over the years by Brockway Glass in Brockway, Zippo in Bradford, and Erie Beer Company in Erie, PA. He retired in 2018 and returned to live in his hometown of Brockway.
He was a member of the Brockway Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge. Mac had a strong interest in history and was widely regarded as the family historian, known for his exceptional memory and detailed recollections of family and community events.
He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth “Bitsey” A. (Dr. Gerald) Robertson of State College, PA; and two brothers, Jeffery D. (Karyn) Devlin of Ridgefield, CT, and Dr. James E. (Diane) Devlin of Brockway, PA. He is also survived by two nieces, one nephew, two great nieces, and three great nephews.
In accordance with Mac’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A small, private service will be held for the family at a later date, with Rev. Jeffrey Potter officiating. He will be laid to rest at Morningside Cemetery in DuBois, PA.
