William "Bill" Holt

William Harvey Holt age 89 of Bond Road Brockway, PA; died on Sunday September 29, 2024 at his residence. Born on May 8, 1935 in Sugar Hill, PA; he was the son of the late Benjamin W. and Ellen “Edna” Shields Holt Sr.  On July 19, 1957 he was married to Joyce L. Wingard and she survives. Retired, Bill had been employed at Brockway Glass for over 40 years in the Warehouse, and he also farmed his entire life raising beef cows. He was a lifelong member of the Munderf Church and served as President of the Munderf Cemetery for many, many years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and especially hunting. Bill had a strict belief that he adhered to throughout his life, that Sunday was a day of rest and nothing more than spending time with his family was permitted.  In addition to his wife he is also survived by 3 daughters: Marlene (Robert) Burchard of Munderf, Linda (W. Jay) Chamberlin of Emerickville, PA; Kelly Holt and her husband J. Bradley Smith of Hormtown, PA; 3 sisters: Virginia Young of Worthville, PA; Leona Himes of Hazen, PA; Mary (Bob) Moody of Brockport; 2 brothers: Benjamin Holt Jr and Kenneth (Sue) Holt both of Sugar Hill; 9 grandchildren: Bradley (Amanda) Chamberlin, Jason (Kelly) Chamberlin, Jennifer (Matt) Krishart, Angela (Rodney) Rhodes, John W. Freemer, Kristen Freemer, Michelle (Nate) Hetrick, John Dustin (Marya) Smith and Toni (Mark) Kurtz. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by an infant brother David Holt, an infant sister Beverly Holt, sisters Grace Ross and Margaret E. Holt and a brother Robert Cargill “Carkie” Holt. There will be no public visitation. A private Funeral Service will be held with Rev. Dennis Lawton officiating. Burial will be in the Munderf Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson County 4-H C/O Parker P.
