Violet E. Preston

Violet Eunice Preston age 97 currently a resident at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville (a long time Munderf, PA resident) died on Saturday March 20, 2021 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born on August 1, 1923 in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Bertha Riley Clark. Violet was a graduate of the Brockway High School. Violet was married to Robert F. Preston in 1942 and she instantly became the wife of a coal miner/farmer. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1986. Violet was Methodist by Faith. She is survived by 2 daughters: Janice (Mark) Knapp of Brookville and June Long of Brockway; 5 sons: Rodney (Karen) Preston of DuBois; Roger (Paula) Preston of Zephryhills, FL; Regis (Susan) Preston also of Brockway and Ross (Kathy) Preston and Reed Preston both of Munderf. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a daughter Joyce (Tom) Scarborough and a son Rocky Preston; 4 sisters: Esther, Anna, Mary and Joann; 5 brothers: Wilbur, Wallace, Richard, William and Willard. Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Calling hours will be on Wednesday March 24th from 11AM to 1PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will follow at 1PM also at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Trask officiating.  Social distancing protocols will be in place and masks are required.  Burial will be in the Munderf Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Munderf Area Action Committee.
