Stephen A. Strishock Jr. Obituary

Stephen A. Strishock Jr., age 72 of Clay Plant Road Brockway, PA, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday August 2, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born on January 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Stephen A. Strishock Sr. and Rhoda McAninch Strishock who survives and lives at Treasure Lake. Stephen, a partner of Strishock Coal Company, began his career at 18 years old. He dedicated his skills and expertise working as an accomplished heavy machinery mechanic at his family’s coal business. His commitment and craftsmanship were unmatched. Stephen passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and determination.

Steve had a profound love for the outdoors, finding joy in the simple things, especially mowing his yard and hunting. His greatest pride however, was his family. Steve adored his wife Jeannie and their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership, no matter how many times he had to ask for her forgiveness. He was Pop-Pop to his grandkids and they brought immense joy to his life where he cherished every, single moment with them.

Steve never let the physical toll his job had on his body keep him down. He was a role model and a phenomenal dad to his children, instilling in them the values of hard work and dedication. His teachings and love will forever guide them.

Steve was blessed with many good friends who shared his journey, providing laughter and camaraderie throughout his life. Though he will be greatly missed, his memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of all that knew him. Stephen’s legacy is one of strength, love and unwavering dedication, and he will be remembered as the fun-loving Pop-Pop, dad, husband and friend that so many of us were blessed to know.

Steve was a member of St. Tobias Church in Brockway where he served as an usher. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Steve is survived by his wife Jeannie Colville Strishock whom he married on October 7, 1972; 3 children:  Stephen A.
