Shirley M. Anderson

Shirley Mae Anderson age 95 of Oscar Drive Brockport, PA. died on Thursday November 24, 2022 at her home. Born on July 23, 1927 in Reynoldsville, PA; she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Alice M. Cook Spears. Shirley was a graduate of the Reynoldsville High School. On August 23, 1952 she was married to Darrel A. Anderson at the United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville by Rev. H.H. Shoff.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Brockport United Methodist Church. Shirley also was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling all over and through out the United States and to foreign country’s, especially Mexico, Denmark and Belgium. She also enjoyed reading the newspaper and keeping up on current events locally and abroad. Her greatest joy as she got older was spending time with her family.  Shirley was the most selfless, devoted wife and mother you could ever ask for. She is survived by 2 daughters: Joyce (Tim) Hetrick of Brockway; Beverly (Ron Shadduck) Anderson of Penfield, PA;  a son Brian (Mary Lou) Anderson of Brockway; 5 grandchildren: Amy (Paul) Swinehart,  Adam (Amber) Hetrick both of Quarryville, PA; Melissa Anderson Morgan of Thurston, NY; Jesse (Jaimie) Anderson of Brockport and Samantha (Christian) Barraclough of Fairbanks, Alaska; 14 great grandchildren: Anna Yonkin, Tori Morgan, Lily Morgan, Chace Morgan, Ben Morgan, Maverick Morgan, Logan Anderson, Bella Anderson, Jackson Barraclough, Paulie Swinehart, Ellie Swinehart, Adison Hetrick, Adelyn Hetrick and Adrianna Hetrick. Shirley is also survived by her dog Duffy. Calling hours will be on Monday, November 28 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at 11 AM also at the funeral home with Pastor Ann Foor officiating. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park.  A very special thank you to these ladies: Jane Grady, Gloria Adams and Marcia Weitzel for all the care they provided Shirley which allowed her to remain in her home and to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospice for the comfort they provided in her final days.  Memorial donations may be made to the Brockport United Methodist Church 5543 Route 219 Brockport, PA 15823.
