Shirley M. Himes

Shirley Mae Himes age 85 of Steeletown Drive Brockway, PA; died on Monday March 29, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on February 2, 1936 in Munderf, PA; she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie Heilburn Lockwood. She was married to Clarence V. Schaeffer and he preceded her in death. Shirley then married Benjamin "Buck" Himes Jr. and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2010. Retired, Shirley had been employed at Brockway Glass for 35 years as a Packer. She was a member of the Brockway Church of God, and enjoyed traveling, attending NASCAR Races and going to car shows. In addition, Shirley enjoyed sharing her photo albums with visiting family members and attending family cookouts. She is survived by daughters: Milly Wennin of Brockway; Vicky (Mark) Garcia of Falls Creek; Sandra Headley of Bunnell, Florida; Melanie Moore of Brockway; Cheryl Steele also of Brockway; a son: John Schaeffer of St Marys, PA; a daughter Rebecca Watt of Gaylord, MI; and 3 step-daughters. Shirley is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Mindy Gruver, Jim Myers, Barb Myers, April Silk, Brandie Siverling, Vincent Siverling, Stephanie (Mark) Bell, Joshua (Zell) MeKenny, Kenda Van Guilder, Cody Schaeffer, Carley Schaeffer, Jake Schaeffer, Justin (Ashley) Watt, Rachel Watt, and 6 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by a brother: Leroy Lockwood, 2 great grandchildren, 1 step-son, and one step-great grandchild. Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 1 from 11AM to 1PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A private Funeral Service will be held with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Church of God.
