Sandra Lee Miller

Sandra Lee Miller, age 72 of Brockway, Pa passed Thursday,  June 24, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa after a brief illness. She was born on January 12, 1949 in Uniontown, Pa. She was the daughter of Reed Harold Byerly and Elizabeth "Betty" Louise Andersen. On December 30, 1989, she was married to Stephen Matthew Miller of Brockway and previously to Carl Thomas Matthews. He preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Tobias Church in Brockway. She graduated from Brookville Area High School and Clarion University of Pa. She worked several years for Penn State Cooperative Extension and then had a daycare center (QDS) in Brockway, Pa. She is survived by a son, Kevin Thomas Matthews, a brother, Terry Reed Byerly, a sister, Diana Lynn (Byerly), Neal, Grabowski. Two stepsons, Matthew Jay Miller and Daniel Stephen Miller (Taylor Kuntz) Three grandchildren, Markelle Diana Marie Matthews, Jordon Thomas Lee Matthews ( Rachael Pendleton), Ashtin Nathan Scott Matthews (wife, Jessica), A nephew, Andrew Reed Byerly (John Barrett) a niece, Lesley Ann Byerly (Chuck Schalk). Great grandchildren, Mackley Parker Thomas Matthews, Maddyn Carl Lee Matthews, Kyle J. Miller Houston, Carter Houston, Mia and Laney, daughters of Tim and Jenny Houston, Emma Miller, and Stephen Michael Miller. She enjoyed being retired and spending time with her friends at camp on the Clarion River, her Florida condo and many friends, traveling with Steve But most of all, the precious times with her family. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Brockway Sportsman's Club, Sons and Daughters of Italy and the Orient Club. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday June 29 at 10:30 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Final resting place will be St. Boniface Cemetery in Kersey. Immediately following the Mass, a Celebration of  Sandy’s Life Funeral Luncheon will be held at the S.O.I. Club in Brockway.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may made to the Brockway Area Ambulance Service PO Box 222 Brockway, Pa. 15824.
