Samantha Lyn “Sami” Hetrick age 21 a Richardsville Road Brookville, PA resident, died on Sunday August 31, 2025. Born on February 19, 2004, she was the daughter of Daryl Hetrick and Jamie Bennett Smith. Sami was a 2022 graduate of the Brookville High School. Currently she was a student at Penn West Clarion, where she was enrolled in the Nursing program. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she also found time to coach gymnastics at the Brookville YMCA as well as provide private home health care. She was protestant by faith. Sami was a member of the Brookville Firemans Club and the YMCA. She enjoyed hunting and boating. Running was also a favorite activity, as keeping herself physically fit was an important daily routine. Sami also was an avid animal lover, and currently was a dog mom to Finnigan, Hank, Bailey and Molly. But the absolute most important thing in her short life was her family. Nothing brought her joy like a family gathering, picnic, celebration or the holidays. In addition to her father Daryl (Mandi) Hetrick of Brookville and her mother Jamie (Chris) Smith also of Brookville she is also survived by her step-mother Ashley Hetrick of Brookville; brothers Blake Smith and Porter Hetrick both of Brookville; a sister Jaleesa Hetrick of Brookville; a step-brother Rily Venesky and step-sister Emma Venesky both of Brookville; paternal grandfather Dave Hetrick of Erie, PA; Paternal grandmother Debbie Hetrick of St. Petersburg, FL; and her maternal grandparents Dan and Kim Barber of Brookville. Sami is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins far to numerous to mention them all. She is preceded in death by her great grandmother Patricia Bennett, great grandparents Don and Nancy Hetrick and her great grandmother Patricia Jennings. Visitation will be on Friday, September 5 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 6 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home, with Pastor Joni Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Riggs Cemetery at Richardsville.
