Ronald L. Reitz

Ronald Lee Reitz age 85 a Wood Street Brockway, PA resident died peacefully on Monday June 12, 2023 at Highland View Health Care in Brockway. Born on April 11, 1938 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Fred and Louise Provin Reitz. He is a 1956 graduate of the Brockway High School.  On November 16, 1956 he was married to Eleanor “Ellie” Hall and she survives. Retired, Ron had been employed at Brockway Glass for 13 years, and was employed at Preston Trucking Company as a Truck Driver for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Allens Mills United Methodist Church and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Ron was a Member of the Free & Accepted Masons for 60 years, belonging to Lodge #379 in Ridgway and then transferring to Lodge #810 in Hermitage, PA. He was an avid sportsman and an active member of the Western Reserve Gun Club. Ron always had a desire for community service, and was always eager volunteer with numerous organizations. Above all, his family was his most treasured accomplishment.  In addition to his wife he is also survived by 2 daughters: Teresa (Stan) Sprankle of Raeford, NC; Jennifer (Barb Brecht) Reitz of Harrison City, PA; a son Michael (Dawn) Reitz of Brockport; 4 grandchildren: Erik, Nathan, Krisha, Nicole; 11 great grandchildren: Zoie, Nickolas, Hayden, Zachari, Dakota, Ava, Kaleb, Ella, Nevaeh, Padme and Kaysen. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by an infant son William Gregory Reitz. Visitation will be on Thursday June 15 from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Masonic Service will be held at 3 PM followed immediately by a Funeral Service with Pastor Ellen Bullock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brockway Schools and Community Foundation for the Trap Club.
