With love, we mourn the passing of Ronald Eugene Coleman on July 27, 2024, after an extended illness. Ron was born On January 3, 1950, in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Norman B. and Rebecca Reichard Coleman. His brother-in law, Blaine Moyer, Erie, PA, and his nieces, Cynthia Dahn of Ft. Wayne, IN, Linda (William) Mackin, and Denise Montgomery, both of Erie, PA., survive him. In addition to his parents, his sisters, Freda Coleman, and Shirley Moyer precede him in death. We have absolute comfort and peace knowing that Ron was welcomed into Heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ, and he is reunited with his family who loved him so deeply.
Ron was a beloved core member of L’Arche, Oasis House where he resided. He had a heart for prayer and faith, offering comfort and hope to everyone around him. He cherished reciting Bible Scripture, singing old hymns, and songs of praise and worship, and Christmas music. He was also an avid Johnny Cash fan, and enjoyed old time country music. Ron had a vibrant spirit and a unique gift for making friends wherever he went. He brought warmth and happiness to those around him with his infectious smile and childlike laughter. Ron will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. His light will continue to shine brightly in the memories of his loved ones.
In his younger years, Ron was a champion horseshoe thrower, bowler, pitcher, and corn hole player, receiving countless awards for his outstanding performances, skill, and sportsmanship in competitions. He was an avid collector of model cars and trains. He loved the game of baseball, often attending games of the Erie Seawolves and Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved rock collecting at the beach, searching for unique stones and marveling at their natural beauty.
Our family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude, love, and appreciation to Ron’s L’Arche Oasis House family members for the unwavering love, care, comfort, and support provided to Ron over the past 25 years. You were truly his family. Thank you!
