Richard "Smiley" Battitori age 87 of Marchiori Road Brockport, PA; died on Friday August 19, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on April 1, 1935 in Steeltown, PA; he was the son of the late Livio and Flora Marchiori Battitori. Rich was married to Cynthia Lindemuth and she preceded him in death on May 30, 1996. He then married Patricia Antonio on January 17, 2003 and she survives. Retired, Rich had been employed as a Color Matcher at Ridgway Color and Chemical for 44 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from January 1958 to January 1960. Rich was practically a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp and is currently a member at St. Tobias in Brockway. He served on the parish Finance Committee while a member at Holy Cross for many years. He enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Steelers. He had a lifelong love of cars and automobiles and everything associated with owning one, from maintenance to making sure they were always highly polished. Rich also was blessed with the talent to be able to fix just about anything that needed repair. He used this gift thousands of times over helping his kids with many many projects. Rich always was a family first kind of man and enjoyed every opportunity he could to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His honesty makes us laugh every single day! He is survived by 2 daughters: Laurie (PJ) Piccirillo of Brockport, Melissa (Mark) Scolese of Brockway; 2 sons: Steven (Jolene) Battitori of Long Valley, NJ; Daniel (Michelle) Battitori of Severna Park, MD; a brother Dennis (Darla) Battitori of Santa Clarita, CA; a sister Linda (Bud) McLaughlin of Hazen; 10 grandchildren: Nicholas Battitori, Jonathan Battitori, Cejae Scolese, Levio Scolese, Joseph (JP) Piccirillo, Lucciano Battitori, Michelangelo Piccirillo, Sofia Battitori, Antonio Piccirillo and Gianni Battitori. Rich is also survived by his best friend and uncle Bob Marchiori of Brockport. He is also preceded in death by a brother Donald Battitori. Calling hours will be on Monday August 22 from 4PM to 8PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday August 23 at 12:00 PM at St. Tobias Church also in Brockway with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery at Brandy Camp. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Cross Cemetery C/O St. Boniface Church 355 Main Street Kersey, PA 15846.
