Nancy J. Hooten

Nancy J. Hooten age 93 a long time Alexander Street Brockway, PA resident, currently a resident at The Cottages at Christ the King Manor died on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on January 11, 1933 in Reynoldsville, PA; she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Anderson Charlesen. On December 27, 1952 she was married to Walter R. Hooten and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1987. Retired, Nancy had been employed as a Packer at Brockway Glass for 24 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brockway where she also served as an Elder. Nancy was very generous with her time, and enjoyed being a volunteer. She was a 2005 Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipient, a volunteer at the Jefferson County Area Agency of Aging, an RSVP of Clearfield County Volunteer, a Penn Highlands DuBois Volunteer and enjoyed volunteering at Highland View Health Care in Brockway. Nancy also enjoyed bowling, golfing and cheering for the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her greatest enjoyment throughout her entire life was spending time with and taking care of her family. She is survived by sons Jeff (Glenda) Hooten of DuBois; Ben Hooten of Brockway; Gary (Rene) Hooten of Kittanning, PA; and a brother Robert (Cheryl) Charlesen of Strasburg, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Nicholas (Katie) Hooten, Sarah (Justin) Craft, Amanda (AJ) Probola and Walter Hooten as well as by 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a son Mark R. Hooten, sisters Christine Thomas, Becky Anderson, Lovey Tuberson; brothers Bernie, John and Harry Charlesen. She is also preceded in death by two grandchildren Jeanette Hooten and Adam Hooten. Visitation will be on Monday, June 22 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Emily Koehler officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway. Memorial donations may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center 100 Hospital Avenue DuBois, PA 15801.
