Dennis M. “Mike” Wingard age 77 of Beechton Road Brockway, PA; died on Friday October 18, 2024 at his residence. Born on March 26, 1947 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Ronald E. and Arlene Archibald Wingard. Retired, Mike served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. His career in the service spanned the Vietnam War Era and he retired as Master Sergeant. After serving his country, he worked at Munson Trucking and at Brockway Pressed Metals. Not one to sit around, he also had numerous odd and end side jobs, and wasn’t afraid to tackle anything. Mike is a member of the Beechtree Union Church, a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the River City Mini Truckers Club. He especially enjoyed woodworking making his own furniture, clocks, pen sets and other wooden trinkets. He is survived by his long time faithful partner Sherrie Nale of Brockway, a daughter Evonne (Scott) Wingard-Loewe and a son Patrick (Katie) Wingard both of Brockway; Step-daughters Tracy (John) Styborski of Corry, PA; Kelly (Chuck) Snyder of Brockway; Nicole Deter of DuBois and Andrea Nale of North Carolina; Step-son James (Emmy) Nale of Thailand and a half-sister Alta (Chris) Houk of California. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by an infant brother Kenneth Wingard, a brother Ronald Wingard II and a sister Dawn Marie Havens. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at 11:00 AM also at the Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Honor Guard. Memorial donations may be made to any veterans charitable organization.
