Melvin Henry Huffman age 85 of 9th Avenue Brockway, PA; died on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at Highland View Health Care in Brockway. Born on July 23, 1937 in Hazen, PA; he was the son of the late Melvin G. and Mary Uplinger Huffman. On February 14, 1992 he was married to Nancy Ferraro Kocher and she survives. Retired, Henry had been employed as a Lab Technician at Brockway Pressed Metals for over 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army and later in the Army Reserves. He was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway where he also served as an usher and on the team that assisted at all funeral masses as altar servers for many years. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was currently serving as the Grand Knight of Council 3794. He also sat on the St. Tobias Cemetery Board where he served as past president. Henry lived a life of serving others and is a past member of the Warsaw Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. He also is a member of the Eagles Club in Brookville and the Brockway Area Kaimanns. He was an avid bowler and loved to golf. In addition to his wife he is also survived by daughters Kelly (Amy Powers) Gilligan of Brookville; Kathy (Joe) Urchuck of Knoxdale, PA; Kimberly (Jim) Newhouse of Butler, PA; sons Michael Huffman of Brockway; Scott (Michelle) Huffman of Mechanicsburg, PA; Scott (Leslie) Kocher of Fishers, IN; Bryan (Lori) Kocher of McDonald, PA; Kevin (Becky) Kocher of Harvest, AL; and daughters Cathy (Troy) Harris of New Market, AL; Karen (Shawn) Goodwin of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister Ruth Walter of Brookville and a brother Jim (Patty) Huffman of Brockport. Henry is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday June 9 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 10 at 10:00 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
