Mary "Betsy" Moore

Mary E. “Betsy” Moore age 89, a long time Whetstone Road Brockport, PA resident, died on Saturday May 27, 2023 at Willow Wood Nursing Home in North Lima, Ohio. Born on July 29, 1933 in Oil City, PA; she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Genevieve Callahan Faller. Betsy graduated from the Oil City High School. On September 8, 1962 she was married to Charles T. Moore and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2013. Betsy had been employed at Worthington Corporation in the IBM Department and also at Brockway Glass. Betsy also provided in home health care to many many Brockport/Brockway residents over the years.  She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway, the Rosary Society, American Legion Post #95 Ladies Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was honored in 2011 as the Brockway Woman of the Year. She is survived by a daughter Erin (Brian) Ballard of Nicholasville, KY; 3 sons: Daniel (Ann) Moore of Lake Orion, MI; Patrick Moore of Brockport; Timothy (Andrea) Moore of Lowellville, Ohio; grandchildren: Shane (Deanna) Benjamin; Randi, Ryan, Gordon and Monica Moore; Michael Blanch; Nathan and Mary Rose Ballard. Visitation will be on Thursday June 1 from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2 at 10:00 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Horton –Brockway Lions Club 5523 Route 219 Brockport, PA 15823.
