Marjorie "Nan" Smith

Marjorie G. “Nan” Smith age 100 of Brockway, PA; died on Wednesday August 7, 2024. Born on September 10, 1923 in Beechwoods (Jefferson Co; PA) she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Alice Snyder Crawford. On June 9, 1941 she was married to Samuel E. Smith Sr. and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2010. Retired, Nan had been employed at Brockway Glass for 25 years as a Packer. She was a member of the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church her entire life. Nan enjoyed crafts and crafting, writing poetry, telling a good joke, camping, playing cards and going to auctions and flea markets with her husband. She is survived by a daughter Ruth (Cliff) Carr of Brockway; a son S. Edward (Grace) Smith of Chapin, SC; a sister Vada (Bill) McCracken of Texas; grandchildren Lori (Ray) Serafini, Lisa Gilebarto, Ken (Suizi) Carr, Sam (Faith) Carr, Lynn (Mike) Bookman;  great grandchildren Rayme (Kelly) Serafini, Noah (Hayley) Serafini, Andrew (Danielle Oliveria) Serafini, Andrea, Stephen and Zach Gilebarto, Bret and Corey Carr, Mikey, Bradley and Lakelyn Bookman; a great-great granddaughter Lyla and a great-great grandson on the way. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Moyer and two brothers Ronald and Darrell Crawford. Visitation will be on Sunday August 11 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and again from 10 AM to 11 AM Monday at the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastors Dave and Emily Koehler officiating. Burial and committal prayers will follow in the Beechwoods Cemetery.
