LeRoy Mann Obituary

LeRoy Joseph Mann age 91 of Broad Street Brockway, PA; died on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Venice Florida. Born on June 23, 1926 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Joseph and Wilda Wilson Mann.  In 1945 he was married to Alice M. King for 49 years and she preceded him in death. He then married  Mabel Emanuelson in 1997, and she also precedes him in death. Retired, he was employed at Brockway Glass as a Supervisor in the Decorating Department for 42 years. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling with Alice and spent the last 30 years between Brockway and his winter home at Ramblers Rest in Venice Florida.  He was a founder and long standing member of the CMA Church in Brockway where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Teacher and in many other positions. He was honored at Mahaffey Church Camp for his many years of dedicated service. To those who knew him consider themselves blessed. LeRoy served in the U.S. Air Force and was a WWII Veteran. He also was a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion in Brockway. He was a true patriot and loved his country. As so many that were born in the depression era he worked hard for his home in Rosemount Minnesota, Mount Vista, and his farm house outside of Brockway where both of his daughters, granddaughter and nephew still reside. LeRoy was a true outdoorsman where he could do the things he loved. Fishing, hunting, golfing, raising his horses and bird dogs, shooting his bow, boating and RV-ing. In his later years he became an avid pool player where he won many tournaments and awards. LeRoy never stopped traveling and continued his journeys with his dear friend Barb Ford, spending his summers at the lake in Wisconsin which he truly loved. But as he taught us, most importantly, he was a man of faith. He did his best throughout his 91 years to walk with the Lord. He spent time in prayer, and wrote the Word of God on his heart. His life verse Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” Everyone who knew him can be rest assured that LeRoy is in paradise. He is survived by his loving daughters Linda (Terry) Gray and Ruth (Jerry) Wymer both of Brockway; 6 grandchildren: Mark Mann of Farmington, MN; Tracy (Brooks) Shenkle and Michael (Barb) Gray both of Brockway; Brian (Kristen) Wymer of Mount Jewett/Kane, PA; Eric (Sarah) Wymer of Warren and Adam Wymer also of Brockway; great grandchildren Rachel Mann; Devon Shenkle; Jacob Mann; Stacie Gray; Lily, Casey, Ava, Maggie and Scarlett Alice Wymer great great grandsons Levi and Leeland as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by a son Larry Mann of Rosemount, MN. Our father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle, friend and mentor enjoyed life to the fullest and will be deeply and truly missed. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 25 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM  at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 26 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Henretty officiating. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Monday morning at the funeral home. As quoted by Billy Graham “Someday you will read or hear that I am dead. Don’t you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I have ever been. I will have just changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God. “Leroy is in the presence of God with so many that have passed before him, come celebrate his wonderful life with his family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the CMA Church Landscaping Fund 551 Broad Street Brockway, PA 15824
