Joseph P. “Tinker” Veltri age 74 of Pershing Avenue Brockway, PA; died on Thursday December 5, 2024 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois. Born on May 8, 1950 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Joseph J. “Blackie” and Anna Neal Veltri. Retired, he had worked his entire life as a Mason. Tinker was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed fishing Pine Creek in Pennsylvania; an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting the vineyards of Brockway. He also was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirate fan. Even though masonry work is how he earned his living, it was also his passion in life and while he was enjoying all of the previously mentioned activities, laying the next block was never far from his mind. He is survived by a son Eric Veltri of New Castle, PA; a daughter Rebecca Veltri, 3 sisters Diana Dickerson of Palmetto, FL; Christina (Elizabeth Haessner) Veltri of Parrish, FL; Mary Kay (Roger) Plaszenski of Penfield; 3 brothers Fr. Dennis Veltri of Erie, PA; George Veltri of Brockway and Richard “Rick” Veltri also of Brockway. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers Robert “Butch” Veltri and Mike Veltri. There will be no public visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 11 at 10:30 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway, with Fr. John Detisch presiding and Fr. Dennis Veltri con-celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
