John E. “Jack” Tokarcik, age 99, a resident at the DuBois Nursing Home, died on Friday, September 5, 2025. Born on September 1, 1926 in Shawmut, PA; he was the son of the late Charles and Christine Sabatose Tokar. On February 6, 1959 he was married to Goldie I. Hannah and she preceded him in death on August 22, 2021. Retired, Jack had been employed in Machine Repair at Brockway Glass. He also could be found in the former Brockway True Value Store on Main Street where he loved to stock the shelves and visit with customers. He worked there until he was 92 years old. Jack also served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the South Pacific, where he saw heavy fighting/action. Afterwards he participated in the occupation of Japan. He was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway and also belonged to Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to watch any kind of sports he could find on TV. Jack was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by nieces Karen (Don) Salandra and Denise (Peggy) Lucas as well as numerous additional nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by 2 sons: John C. Tokarcik and James E. Tokarcik; 4 sisters Vicky Visniesky, Sis Bart, Pat Hau, Shirley Inzana and a brother Joe Tokar. All services for Jack will be private. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Brockway.
