John B. Potts Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Highland View Healthcare, after a short illness. John was a long time resident of Brockway, PA. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Potts Jr in 2003 and his wife of 50 years, Dorothea (Dottie) Potts in 2017. He is survived by his 3 sons, John B. Potts Jr, David Potts and Michael Potts all of Brockway, PA. He is also survived by five siblings, Barb Lovell of DuBois, PA; Ginger (Cliff) Hetrick of Brockway; Ed (Sue) Potts of Lake City, PA; Doretta Potts of Kane, PA and Tammy (George) Simbeck of St Marys, PA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Marshal of Georgia, Nykol Potts of Georgia, Cody Potts and Kristofer Potts both of Pennsylvania, Kalen Potts of North Carolina, Zachary Potts of Ohio, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. John had many different jobs over his lifetime from being a police officer, to working in powdered metal factories, to JIT tool and die, and the DuBois Hospital. He enjoyed hunting, bingo, going to the casino, thrifting, flea markets, and going to yard sales. In recent years, John enjoyed spending time with Judy Knabb. John was a very friendly and talkative person who loved to tell anyone and everyone about his 3 sons. His wishes were to have a private funeral and burial service.
