John R. King, age 72 of Longwell Road Brockway, PA passed away on Thursday August 17, 2023.
Born on September 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert E. King and Betty King Steinbach.
John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharlene (Cyone) King. Retired, John had been employed at Brockway Glass for over twenty years. He was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway. John also was a member of the Beechton Beagle Club, the National Rifle Association, and Trout Unlimited. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially loved fly fishing and tying his own flies. He enjoyed his annual fishing trip with his brothers and nephews. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He also enjoyed raising beagles and gardening.
In addition to his wife, John is also survived by two daughters Wendy (Jeff) Cancilla and Amy (Jason) Moczulski, both of Erie, PA, a brother Kenneth (Janet) King of Brookville, four grandchildren Dominic, Gia, Logan, and Carson, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister in law, Charles and Sylvia (Hicks) King and a stepfather Ralph Steinbach.
Visitation will be on Monday August 21 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday August 22 at 11:00 AM at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway officiated by Rev. Tom Henretty. Burial will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park.
