John S. Baka

John S. Baka age 74 of S 4th Street DuBois, PA; died on Friday September 29, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on December 30, 1948 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late John F. and Agnes Koval Baka. On June 19, 2004 he was married to Susan Schoenagel and she survives. Retired, John had been employed at Brookville Wood Products for 35 years, and later worked at DuBois Drug and Wellness delivering medications. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. John was a member of the Olympic Club, the V.F.W. Club and American Legion Post #17 all in DuBois, as well as a member of the Eagles Club in Falls Creek.  He was both a Penn State Nittany Lion and Pittsburgh Steeler season ticket holder. John was a avid golfer, and he enjoyed hunting. In addition to his wife Susan he is also survived by 3 aunts: Patricia Cimbora, Geri Paruso and Irene Koval. He is also survived by numerous cousins. Friends will be received on Thursday October 12 from 9 AM to 10 AM in the chapel at St. Tobias Church in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org
