James H. Stoneberg age 89 of Pikesville, Maryland died on Monday, February 3, 2025. Born on March 5, 1935 in Crenshaw, PA; he was the son of the late Harry and Josephine (Sabatose) Stoneberg. He was married to Carol A. (Keith) Stoneberg for fifty years. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2003. He was a proud veteran of the 376th Airbourne Field Artillery Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division (1953-1956). As a member of the Moorhead Methodist Church, he occasionally served as a lay minister. He also served as a board member of Brockway High School. He was a prolific home builder and leaves a legacy of family homes, twelve A-frames, and an apartment building along Rattlesnake Road. He was proficient at grafting apple and nut trees and his vast apple orchard remains in Brockport. He won best Filbert at Harrisburg farm show and Court of Champion Awards from the Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association, which he was a member. He received a U.S. Patent in 1978 for a Heat Exchanger and established James H. Stoneberg Manufacturing and built and sold heat exchangers throughout the country. Throughout his retirement he built decks, patios, and outdoor play-sets for his children and grandchildren. He resided in Lake Mary, Florida for several years before moving to Maryland. He was one of eight children and is survived by his sister Norma Carnesali of Brockway, a brother Kelly Stoneberg of Harrisburg; four children James H. Stoneberg Jr of Colorado; Jeane L. English of Florida; Joane R. Stoneberg of Maryland and Julie A. Eurillo of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday February 8 from 11AM to 2PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM also at the funeral home with Rev. Andrew Verner officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Full Military honors will be conducted Saturday at the funeral home by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
