James L. “Jim” Irvine age 84 of Allens Mills Road Brookville, PA (Hazen) died on Friday June 30, 2023 at his residence. Born on December 31, 1938 in Hazen, PA; he was the son of the late Barney and Theona Whitehouse Irvine. On June 22, 1958 he was married to Janet Palmer and they just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Retired, Jim had been employed as a heavy equipment operator/mechanic at Starr Coal Company for over 40 years, and as a mechanic at Moore Welding for close to 15 years. He also served for many years as a Warsaw Twp. Supervisor. Jim along with his wife Janet also were the caretakers at the Temple Cemetery in Hazen for many many years. He was a member of the Hazen United Methodist Church and attended the Egypt Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the Warsaw Twp. Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and picking blue berry’s. Jim also enjoyed making moonshine he then shared with family and friends. In addition to his wife Janet he is also survived by a daughter Deanna (Gary) Truesdale of Hazen, a son Mark (Tracy) Irvine also of Hazen and a son Steve (Ann) Irvine of Treasure Lake. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous foster grandchildren as well as by 18 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents his is also preceded in death by a daughter Laurie Raybuck, a sister Shirley Pifer, a brother Tom Irvine and an infant brother Leonard. Visitation will be on Sunday July 2 from 1 PM to 4 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Brad Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the NRA or Temple Cemetery.
