Gordon A. Wood age 81 of Bond Street Ext. Brockway, PA; (formerly of Brandy Camp) died on Saturday May 4, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on September 11, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA; he was the son of the late Albert Thomas and Marian Grace Tippett Wood. Gordon was married to Delores Kline and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2002. Retired, he had been employed as an Equipment Operator at PENNDOT for over 25 years. Gordon was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and later served in the National Guard. He also was a member of the Brockway-Horton Twp. Lions Club and also served as a past Horton Twp. Supervisor. He enjoyed playing bingo, going to country music nights and especially attending all of his grandchildren’s activities. He is survived by a two daughters Sandra (Steve) Preston of Brockway; Wanda (Bill) Lorenzo of Ridgway; two sons Robert (Darlene) Wood of Darlington, SC; Kenneth (Susan) Thom of Brandy Camp, PA a sister Judy (Jim) Martin of Emporium, PA; grandchildren Grace, Dessie, Sarah Joy, William, Angela, Laurie, Erica, Serena, Travis and a foster granddaughter Amber Hunter. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a sister Marian Marazza and a brothers Clifford and Wesley Wood. Visitation will be on Thursday May 9 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway, and again from 11 AM to 12 PM Friday morning at the CMA Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 10 at 12:00 PM at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brockway with Pastor Tom Henretty officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded Friday morning at the church by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the CMA Church 551 Broad Street Brockway, PA 15824.
