George H. Sager age 90 a former Brockport, PA resident currently a resident at the DuBois Nursing Home died on Monday, February 21, 2022. Born on October 7, 1931 in Johnstown, PA; he was the son of the late Ronald L. and Hazel J. Vinz Sager. He was married to Janet Windus and she preceded him in death. Retired, George was a programmer at Manufactures Hanover in Manhattan. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. George was an avid collector and shopper, and was very computer savvy. His greatest enjoyment came from the outdoors and wildlife. He loved wolves, birds, flowers and more wolves. After his parents and his wife passed away, George always had a companion dog – he loved dogs. After he was injured from a fall from the roof of his house, he was unable to have a pet of his own. Thankfully he often had visits from family members who would bring their dogs to visit “Uncle George” or the numerous visits by Therapy Dogs at the DuBois Nursing Home that would spend time with him and brighten up his day. He is survived by a brother Richard (Judy) Sager, a sister-in law Theresa Sager; nieces Mary Jane (Bob) Flook, Sheri West, Sheila Nunemaker, Ronda (Greg) Frenette, Linda Sager, Nancy Woody; a nephew Larry (Michelle) Sager; and cousins Larry (Debby) Miller, Tim (Pam) Miller and Wanda Miller; great nieces Erica Nunemaker and Rachel Sager; great nephews Adam (Erin) Flook, Ryan (Lizzie) Flook, Colin Nunemaker, Matthew Frenette, Christopher Frenette, Bradley Woody and two great great nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a brother Ronald Sager. Calling hours will be on Monday, February 28 from 11AM to 1PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will follow at 1PM with Pastor Ann Foor officiating. Burial will follow in the Brandy Camp Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gateway Humane Society 1211 Airport Road Falls Creek, PA 15840.
