Geno P. Genevro age 81 of Galusha Road Brockway, PA; died on Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on February 28, 1942 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Riccardo and Mary Josephine Cristini Genevro. On October 23, 1987 he was married to Joni Neal and she survives. He was Catholic by faith and served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam era. He was deeply passionate about preserving the freedom of our country. Retired, Geno started out as a very young man working in the powdered metal industry. Eventually he became a founding member and co-owner of Allegheny Powdered Metallurgy in Falls Creek. Geno served on the Brockway Old Fashioned Fourth of July committee for many many years, was a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion and was a member of the Brockway Sportsman’s Club. He also was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Perhaps Geno’s greatest enjoyment came from entertaining family and friends around the bar he had in his basement. In addition to his wife Joni he is also survived by 2 daughters Maria Genevro of Brockway and Gina (Aaron) Brentzel of Charlotte, NC; a son Stephen Genevro of DuBois; 2 sisters: Irene Koval of Erie, PA; Josephine “Pena” Fremer of Brockport; 2 brothers: Frank (Anita) Genevro also of Brockport and Tino (Eileen) Genevro of Brockway. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Enes Pinge; 4 brothers: Fino, Jimmy, Bruno and Mario Genevro and an infant sister Bruna. Visitation will be on Tuesday October 10 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, October 11 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with Fr. John Detisch officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechwoods Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded on Wednesday at the cemetery by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
