G. Rodney Lindholm Obituary

George Rodney (Rod) Lindholm age 92 of Brockway, PA; passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born on September 20, 1929 in Brockway, he was the son of the late John E. and Eunice H. Geer Lindholm. He was married to Donna N. “Rusty” Miller on May 3, 1955 and she preceded him in death on December 20, 2016. Rod was a 1947 graduate of the Brockway High School, and was protestant by faith. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953 with the military police. During his lifetime Rodney worked for 2 ½ years for the FBI in Washington, DC where he classified fingerprints. Rodney retired as a Moldmaker after 41 years of employment from Owens-Brockway Glass in 1992. He was the last surviving founding member of the Brockway Glass Federal Credit Union (now Priority First Federal Credit Union) where he served as a director and loan officer. Rodney also was a 50+ year member of the Kane Lodge #561 F&AM, a member of the Elk Lodge #379 of Ridgway, the Coudersport Consistory and a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion in Brockway. He is survived by 2 sons: Dave Lindholm of Brockway; Steven (Kim Kohler) Lindholm of Rockton; 2 daughters: Anita (Dan) Butters and Amy (Brian) Buesink both of Brockway. Rodney is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Paul and Lucian Lindholm; a sister Lois Lindholm Carnahan and a grandchild Caleb Buesink. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 30 from 5PM to 8PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and again from 10AM to 11 AM Wednesday morning also at the funeral home.  A Funeral Service will follow at 11AM with Rev. Dr. Victor Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded Wednesday morning at the funeral home by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. Although flowers are appreciated, memorial donations to the Brockway Vol. Hose Company PO Box 253 Brockway, PA 15824 are preferred.
