Donald A. Wales

Donald A. Wales age 73 of Harris Street Brockway, PA; died on Wednesday June 16, 2021 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on April 13, 1948 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Kenneth and Elaine Colgan Wales. On August 3, 1974 Don was married to Karen McFadden and she survives. Don started out his working career as an English Teacher at Jeff Tech. Following that he went to work at Brockway Glass and eventually ended up working at Brockway Pressed Metals which is now Phoenix Pressed Metals. It was then that he founded 3 Sigma which he owned and operated with Karen until their retirement. He was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church. Don was a past member of the Kiwanis Club, served on Brockway’s Old Fashioned 4th of July committee, and was a long time Brockway Youth Soccer Coach and Referee. In his retirement Don enjoyed making wine, bird watching, golfing, gardening and landscaping. Perhaps his favorite activity was spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Karen he is also survived by a daughter Megan (Ryan) Burnham of Dublin, Ohio; 3 sons: Andrew (Lacey) Wales of Brockway; Eric (Frances) Wales of Port Matilda, PA; Payton (Krystina) Wales of Baltimore, MD; a brother Vince Wales of Fields Landing, Calif and a sister Susan Wales of Salisbury, NC. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Ryan Wales, Sophie Wales, Donovan Wales, Brooke Wales, Liam Burnham, McKinley Wales and Alanna Wales. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Judy Cooper. Calling hours will be on Saturday, June 19 from 4PM to 5PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will follow at 5PM also at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED OF ALL THOSE VISITING THE FUNERAL HOME.
