Deanna J. Shipe age 83 of Overlook Drive, DuBois, PA; a long time Galusha Road Brockway resident, died on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on January 24, 1942 in Rural Valley, PA; she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Peresie Sickeri. On May 13, 1967 she was married to Dannie J. Shipe and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2023.
Retired, Deanna had always thought of herself as a homemaker, but she also was employed at Montresor’s Market in Brockway, and later on at the Brookville Hospital. She was a member of St. Tobias Church in Brockway. Deanna was a diehard Pittsburgh Steeler fan. She also loved to work on jig saw puzzles and was world famous for her delicious Pies, Pizzelles and Torta Secca. She also loved traveling all over the world with Dannie, and especially enjoyed camping.
Deanna is survived by a daughter Michele Armstrong (Brent) of Treasure Lake; a son Michael Shipe of Sykesville, PA; her sister Gloria Lyle of Brockway; grandchildren Nicholas (Tara) Blakley, Anthony (Kira) Blakley, Shakoda and Annemarie Boyer; and great grandchildren David, Daniel, Ilaria and Coulson Blakley as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by a grandson Christian; sisters Delores Weisner, Dorothy Guzzy and brothers Louis, Joseph and Richard Sickeri.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 19 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Tobias Church also in Brockway with Fr. John Detisch presiding. Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.
