David Blommen Obituary

David E. Blommen age 75 of Egypt Road Brockway, PA; died on Saturday July 23, 2022 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois. Born on March 6, 1947 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Bernard and Twila Askey Blommen. He graduated from the DuBois High School in the class of 1965. Retired, Dave had been employed as a machinist at the former Rockwell International, now Sensus in DuBois. He was Methodist by faith. Dave is a charter member, of 49 years, of the Warsaw Twp. Vol. Fire Co., serving as current President and as Fire Police Captain for 30 years. He also is the Vice Chairperson of the Jefferson County LEPC, and member of Central Districts Fireman’s Association.  He also has been involved with and a fixture at the Hazen Flea Market since its beginning. Dave was an avid poster on “Go DuBois” keeping the public informed about what is going on around them locally with the fire departments. He enjoyed going to car shows, watching Nascar Racing and cheering on the Steelers. He is survived by 2 daughters: Donna Snyder and Lisa (Jeffrey) Hale both of Brockway and a son Michael (Dayna) Blommen also of Brockway; 7 grandchildren: Michelle (Jason) Vantassal, Oliver Snyder, Trisha Snyder, Timothy Hale, Michael (Macy) Blommen Jr; Autumn Blommen and Kyle Blommen; 14 great grandchildren: Virginia, Cheryl, Cori, Robert, Seirra, Courtney, Annabell, Grayson, Amberly, Jennifer, Cheyenne, Jeremy, Dakota and Denver. Dave is also survived by 4 great great grandchildren and another arriving in August. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother Gary Blommen and a granddaughter Nikki Burgard. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 28 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Cemetery at Hazen. Memorial donations may be made to the Warsaw Twp. Volunteer Fire Department 6847 Route 28 N Brookville, PA 15825 or Christ the King Manor 1100 West Long Avenue DuBois, PA 15801.
