Dallas Ardie McKendree Sr. age 93 of the Egypt Road Brookville, PA; made his triumphant transition to Glory on September 13, 2023 with his eyes looking toward heaven. Born on April 13, 1930 in Summerville, PA; he was the son of the late Elmer and Virginia Kirkland McKendree. He was married to Alta Mortimer and she preceded him in death in December 2001. Dallas started his ministry in 1963 in the Free Methodist Church and was ordained in 1976 in the Pilgrim Holiness Church. He retired in 1989 from Twin Rocks, PA. He also was a Deputy Game Warden for many years. Dallas was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving at the end of WW II and also in Korea. He was a past member of the DuBois Honor Guard and was a member of Parson-Marnati Post # 95 of the American Legion. Dallas also served for many years as Fire Police for the Warsaw Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything that allowed him to be in the outdoors. He is survived by a son Dallas “Mac” (Helen) McKendree Jr. of Brockway; a son Terry (Carol) McKendree of De Kalb Junction, NY; a daughter Donna Bell of Brookville (Munderf), and a son Denny (Tammy) McKendree also of Brockway. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Greg, Justin, Jamie, Brian, Brianne, Brenna and Kacy and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by 2 sisters Ruby Gautney and Kathryn Gianetto. Calling hours will be on Friday, September 15 from 6 PM to 8 PM and again on Saturday September 16 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM also at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Case officiating. Burial will follow in the Munderf Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded Saturday afternoon at the cemetery by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
