Boyd A. Bartlett, a long time Brockway resident, passed away at the Dubois Nursing Home on February 7, 2026 at the age of 90. Born on July 4, 1935 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was the 10th and beloved youngest child of the late Flavius Dorsey Bartlett and Blanche Hacker Bartlett.
Boyd was a 1953 graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School, and completed two years of college. He was called to serve in the U.S. Army in Toul, France as a Machinist from 1958-1960. He then returned to Clarksburg to work as a Mould Maker at the glass factory for 43 years, retiring from Brockway glass in 2000. He was an early member of the Harrison County Emergency Squad, in Clarksburg, where he volunteered for 13 years.
Boyd was a faithful husband to Mary Kay for 64 years; a helpful caring neighbor; an extremely hard diligent worker; and a very involved dad, always investing his time with his children and grandchildren, participating, helping, leading in every project, activity, sport and fun adventure. He loved country music, and was very skillful in singing and playing his banjo, mandolin or guitar at diverse venues throughout his whole life. In his retirement he loved singing and playing for the residents at several of the local nursing homes. He also enjoyed several years of square dancing with the "Gateway Squares," golf, gardening, travel, and reading.
Boyd was preceded in death by all 9 of his brothers and sisters, thus closing out a great generation of Bartlett siblings. He is survived by his wife Mary Kay Bartlett; his 2 children: Bryan Bartlett, of Brockway; Marla Halbach (Jim), of Virginia; 12 grandchildren: Keith Bartlett (Brianna), Zachary Bartlett, Brielle Johnston (Alex), Anndi Bartlett, Meg Bassett (Jonathan), Chloe Wilkes (Kenan), James Halbach (Sarah), Micah Halbach, Clara Halbach, Julia Halbach, Matthew Halbach and Charis Halbach. Boyd is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, and 26 nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation. A private Funeral Service will be held with the Rev. Dr. Victor Baxter officiating. The Funeral Service will be live streamed on Wednesday, February 11 at 3:00 PM and can be accessed by a link at the bottom of this page. The link will not appear until 15 minutes prior to service time. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Mount Claire, West Virginia.
