Andrew F. Reed

Andrew F. Reed age 90 of Main Street Kersey, PA; died on Thursday March 30, 2023 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois. Born on May 7, 1932 in Walburn Run, PA; he was the son of the late Cecil and Alice Pontious Reed. On February 15, 1958 he was married to Rose Pusl and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2008. Retired, Andrew had been employed at Motion Control in Ridgway. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Kersey United Methodist Church. Andrew enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog Sadie, gardening and fishing. He is survived by a daughter Shelley (Ed) Shirey of Ridgway, PA; a sister Norma Jean Snedden of Brandy Camp; 5 grandchildren: Joshua (Amanda) Shirey, Jeremy (Melissa) Shirey, Brandi Aaron, Kirstie Sparks and Kathryn Shirey. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a son Tom “Frenchy” Reed; 2 sisters: Geneva and Mary and a great granddaughter Madelyn Shirey. Calling hours will be on Monday April 3, 2023 from 1 PM to 3 PM at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 3 PM with Pastor Ann Foor officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Christ the King Manor 1100 West Long Avenue DuBois, PA 15801.
