I didn't know Uncle Willard until he moved back to Crenshaw. I would take grandma Violet there to visit along with my two children. I was always welcomed into the home with a smile. There are fewer and fewer of his generation here with us. You don't find people very often that are as caring, devoted, and loving like he was. I'm glad I was given the chance to get to know him and listen to his stories before he passed. I will always remember his laugh and kind heart. We are sending prayers to you in heaven and hope you know how much joy you brought to our lives. - Violet's granddaughter- Cindy Snyder and Bob, Adrian, and Nathan

I'm so thankful for the times we had together, especially the past couple years. Thank you for the honesty. I value the truth of our family history.

I can't thank you enough for always accepting and loving ALL of your grandchildren, even our adopted children from China. Dylan will miss your WWII stories the most. Cameron and I will miss fishing. Gretchen will miss the hugs and security that came from you. Spencer will miss you joking with him about how he got your middle name.

I miss you, dad. You told me to celebrate when you were gone. You said you loved each of us when we saw you last week, and asked for one last hug. Then you told me you were going to find that good stream to go fishing and you'd wait for me because mom would probably "chew you out" for wanting to go fishing. So find that stream, dad, because we're going fishing again! I love you!
