Shirley J. Pifer age 83 of Williams Road Reynoldsville, PA (Hazen) died on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at the DuBois Village. Born on June 29, 1935 in Brookville, PA; she was the daughter of the late Barney and Theona Whitehouse Irvine. Shirley was married to Leon D. Pifer and he preceded her in death on August 13, 2017. Retired, she had been employed at Brockway Glass for over 30 years as a Packer, in the Mould Shop and in the Maintenance Department. Shirley was a member of the Beechtree Union Church where she also served on the Ladies Aid Committee. She enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting and flower gardening. She is survived by a daughter Deborah (Charles) Ford of Falls Creek; 2 sons: Greg (Brenda) Ross of Columbus, Ohio; Jerry Ross of Hazen; a step daughter Linda Minjarez of Bull Head City, AZ; a step son Dave (Laura) Pifer of Apple Valley, CA and a brother James (Janet) Irvine also of Hazen. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to her parents Shirley is also preceded in death by a brother Thomas Irvine as well as an infant brother. Calling hours will be on Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon also at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery.
