Ronald William Shick age 67 of the village of Lake City (Ridgway, PA) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday July 30, 2017. He was born in Ridgway on September 5, 1949 to the late Arthur R. and Dorothy Geer Shick. Ron shared 45 years of marriage with his childhood sweetheart Linnea Olson Shick who survives. He is also survived by 2 sons Aaron Russell (Holly Copen ) Shick of Erie, PA; Eric Arthur (Carrie Newton) Shick of Columbia, SC. Ron was blessed with 4 grandchildren: Hudson and Tyler (Eric’s) Kaitlyn and Zephyr (Aaron’s) which brought great joy to his life. Ron is also survived by 4 brothers: Bert Shick of Charlotte, NC; Gary (Susan) Shick of Ridgway; Robert Shick of Questa, NM; Steven Shick also of Ridgway and 1 sister Susan (John) Trail of Charlotte, NC. He also enjoyed sharing his life with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron was a machinist by trade, having been employed most recently at Miller Welding and Machine Company in Brookville, PA until his retirement in February 2017. He was a U.S. Army Veteran with 2 overseas tours in Vietnam and Germany. Ron’s passion in life was to bring glory to God in everything he did, humbly serving his Savior Jesus Christ with his whole life. His gentle spirit, contagious smile and love of people touched many lives. He and his wife Linnea served as missionaries in Haiti for 12 years. He was serving as a lay speaker with the churches of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Parish, and helping lead teams to Haiti at the time of his death. A private Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of his family. Burial was in the Lake City Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12 at 1:00 PM at the Evangelical United Methodist Church 30 South White Street Brookville, PA 15825 with Pastor Don Henderson officiating. A time of fellowship will immediately follow at the Warsaw Township Volunteer Fire Hall 6847 Route 28 North Brookville, Pa. In lieu of flowers,  donations may be made to the Ron Shick Haiti Memorial Fund. Make checks payable to: Good Shepherd U.M. Parish and mail them to the church at 57 Allens Mills Road Brookville, PA 15825 marked Ron Shick Memorial.
