Roberta A. Bruno

Roberta Ann Bruno, 76, of Brockway passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Christ the King Manor in Dubois, PA.   She was born in nearby Coal Glenn on September 19, 1941, the beloved daughter of the late Earl and Hazel (Ray) Spare. “Bobbie” worked at Brockway Glass for 22 years, mostly packing glassware in speedy assembly lines, dedicated to doing a great job as she did in all things in life.  She retired once stricken with a disability way too early in life, and entered a new world with many challenges that she faced with courage, hard work and love that inspired all who ever knew -- or even saw -- her.  Before and after her disability, her life focused on selfless love and devotion of God and family.  Throughout much of her life, she was still able to bake her legendary chocolate chip cookies second to none!  Her ability to appreciate living in the moment, and truly enjoying the simplest moments of pleasure associated with her family and friends, made her and those around her frequently share indescribable, unique joy. Preceded in death by parents Earl and Hazel Spare, sister Joyce Spare, and brother Gary Spare.  She is survived by her eternal best friend and loving husband of fifty-seven years, Andy.  She is also survived by her three children and their families:  daughter Tammy (Mike) Pittman; son Paul (Lynne) and their children Ashley, Nichole, Aaron, and Joshua; son Dan (Sue) and their children Drew and Jake.  She was also blessed to see her first great-grandchild, Raynor, born this year. There will be no public visitation. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 6 at 9:30 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding.
