Richard A. Moore

Richard A. Moore age 70 of Brockport, PA; died on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence. Born on December 4, 1946 in DuBois, PA; he was the son of the late Charles and Bonnie Moore Weiser. On June 17, 1972 he was married to Nancy E. Raybuck and she survives. Rich was employed at Brockway Glass (Owens-Illinois) for 38 years, and was working  as a Day Upkeep Worker in the Forming Department at his retirement. He was a United States Army Veteran serving from July 1967 through July 1970 overseas in Germany and Korea. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (expert M-14). He was a member of Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion in Brockway for 38 years. He is a Past Commander and was currently serving as the Sergeant of Arms on the Funeral Detail. He organized the Spaghetti Dinners, the installation of the Brick Memorial Wall, the annual Veteran’s Fishing Derby and many other activities related to the community. He was a member of the Brockway VFW Post 7252, Horton Sportsmen’s Club and the Brockway Sportsmen’s Club. Rich was a member of the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church, where he served as a former Trustee and member of the Administrative Council. He coordinated the annual Easter Breakfast for the past several years. He coached and umpired Little League Baseball and served on the Brockway Little League Board for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, Nascar racing and cheering for the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and the Penn State Nittany Lions. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and his friends. In addition to his wife he is also survived by 3 sons: Jeff (Nilda) Moore of Allentown, PA; Terry Moore of Brockport and Jason (Jenn) Moore of Catasauqua, PA; a brother Bob Weiser of Cape Coral, FL  and 4 grandchildren Edwin, Jasmine, Lynkan and Ruby. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his grandparents Jay and Ruby Moore and Orlando and Edith Scarnati. Calling hours will be on Thursday, November 16 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 17 at 11:00 AM at the Lanes Mills United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwoods Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be accorded Friday morning at the church by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to the Lanes Mills U.M.
