Milda "Jean" Grimes

Milda Jean Anderson Florack Grimes age 84 a resident at Toby Terrace in Brockway, PA; died on Tuesday June 5, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.  Jean was born on September 26, 1933 in Ridgway, PA; the daughter of the late Edward Swan and Verna Starr Anderson Myers.  She was married to Richard J. “Rick” Florack and he preceded her in death. Jean then married Robert Grimes and he also preceded her in death. She was raised in Wellsville, NY and after graduation from high school she moved to Rochester, NY. Jean worked at Bausch & Lomb for 4 years , General Dynamics for 18 years and Taylor Instruments 10 years in the Technical Publications Department. In 1984 she moved to Ellenton, Florida and worked fro the Bradenton Sheriff’s Department as a Correctional Officer. She graduated from the Police Academy on her 53rd birthday. She was involved in many sports: swimming, scuba diving, archery, bowling, target practice, shooting contests, crafts, ceramics and quilt making. She is survived by a daughter Cherry Marrie Rivera of Ridgecrest, CA; a son David Alan Florack of Bloomington, IN;  2 granddaughters: Angela Kirby and Nina Rivera; 5 great grandchildren: Alena, Nyssa, Jaden, Owen and Brennan; and a sister Ruth Hoffstatter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husbands she is also preceded in death by 4 brothers and their spouses: Glen, Paul, Kenneth and Ronald “Andy” Anderson. In keeping with her wishes there will be no public visitation, and she will be cremated and her ashes spread in the ocean by her son so she can keep on traveling. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway with Pastor Bob Trask officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to the Moorhead United Methodist Church PO Box 233 Brockway, PA 15824 or Mengle Memorial Library 324 Main Street Brockway, PA 15824.
