Marlene McKay Obituary

Marlene Ann McKay age 79 of Broad Street Brockway, PA; died on Sunday November 4, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on July 11, 1939 in Sykesville, PA; she was the daughter of the late George W. and Annie Shulick Rosman. On September 26, 1959 she was married to Donald R. McKay and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2017. Retired, Marlene had been employed as a packer at Brockway Glass.  Later she went on to work  in the cafeteria and as a janitor at the Brockway Elementary School. She was a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway and the Rosary Society. Marlene enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by 2 daughters: Jennifer (Paul) Mezser and Dawn Marie McKay both of Brockway; 2 sons: Dave (Cindy) McKay of Brockway and Jeff (Mary) McKay of Las Vegas, NV; 5 sisters: Madelyn (Paul)  McAninch of DuBois; Patty (Jack) Himes of North Tonawanda, NY; Marcella Ferraro and Betty Hillman both of Greenville, NY; Eva Varacallo of Sykesville; 3 brothers: Robert (Nancy) Rosman of Sykesville; William (Arlene) Rosman of Grand Island, NY; Michael Rosman of Inverness, IL; 6 grandchildren: Justin McKay, Emily Cook, Jordan Spanggaard, Jake Spanggaard, Ryann Mezser, Audrey Mezser and 3 great grandchildren: Aiden McKay, Declan McKay and Rhemi Cook. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death a brother Steven Rosman and 3 sisters Helen Brazaukus, Anka Filipcich and Martha Breznak. There will be no public visitation. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Tobias Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will be Holy Trinity Cemetery in Sykesville. Memorial donations may be made to the Clearfield County SPCA 275 21st Street Clearfield, PA 16830, St. Tobias Church 1135 Hewitt Street Brockway, PA 15824 or the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N.
