Margaret Ann McMeekin

Margaret Ann McMeekin (Keenen) of Brockway died at the age of 85 surrounded by her familyon Monday July 10 at Highland View Health in Brockway.  Ann was born on April 12, 1932 to Erma and Lawrence Keenen in Salamanca, NY.  The family moved Brockway when Ann was a child.  She was a member Brockway Class of 1950.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Keenen Jr, Katherine Gess, and Charles Keenen.  Ann loved her family.  She married James H. McMeekin on October 14, 1961.  They were married for 40 years. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2001.   They resided on Church Avenue in Brockway for over 35 years.  They had four children: Michelle (Orlando) Elizondo of Denton TX, Robert (Beth) McMeekin of Brockway, Kevin (Beth) of Brockway and Ellen McMeekin (deceased). They also have seven grandchildren Matt Kosik of Brockway, Stephen (Sara) Konopko of  Raleigh, NC, Lisa (Brad) McMeekin of Brockway, Robbie McMeekin of DuBois, Delaney, Layken, and Katie McMeekin of Brockway. Ann was a member of the Brockway Homemakers Club and St. Tobias Church.  She was a school crossing guard for many years,  Ann and Jim also donated their time to Meals on Wheels for several years. She could be found playing Bingo or cards at the Fire Hall with her friends.  Ann  was avid knitter and sewer.  She loved crafts of any kind and donated her time and talents to the Harvest of Love. Calling hours will be Wednesday July 12 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. at Carlson -Shugarts Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. at St. Tobias  Church on Wednesday  July 12 with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.  Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery, Brockway.  Memorials maybe made to the Ellen Marie McMeekin Scholarship Fund at Priority First at 550 Main St. Brockway, Pa.
