Welcome to the memorial page for

Lawrence "Snare" Camuso

August 21, 1953 ~ December 3, 2017 (age 64) 64 Years Old

Lawrence “Snare” Camuso, on Sunday, December 3, 2017;  was taken from us all much too soon at the early age of 64. He was born in Punxsutawney, PA to the late Frank and Mary Welsh Camuso. His family moved to Brockway, PA when he was three years old and until the end considered this his home.  He was instrumental in keeping this home in the family and it continues to be a hub for family and friends. As the middle child of 14 kids he had stories of his eldest sister, Pat and his youngest brother, Mark, even as those two never lived under the same roof together. He was a story teller extraordinaire, who had something to say about everyone and every situation. He is survived by his his sons: Ryan of Pittsburgh, Adam and his wife Laurie and his soon to be grandson of Johnstown, his partner of 16 years, Michele Wickwire of Camp Hill and Brian Kontes of Pittsburgh. His wonderful sisters and brothers: Pat (Dave), Sue (Bernie), Mike (Chris), Mary (Roger), Steve (Robbyn), Paul (Megan), Bill (Eve), Joe (Janie), Vince (Kim), Tim (Connie) and Mark (Raegan). He is predeceased by brothers Dave and Frank (Gina). He also leaves behind dozens of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and Michele’s family including sisters, Gail, Paula and Karen who considered him their brother. Many friends from some of his favorite places: Dukes, MidTown Tavern, and Stoney Creek Inn in Harrisburg and Carnesali’s, Scottish Heights and The Vets in Brockway along with any place he stopped along the journey of his life as he made friends and talked to people where ever he went.  He has touched people everywhere he travelled and where ever he stopped along his path of this life and will be missed by more friends then can be listed here. He loved them all. Calling hours will be on Friday, December 8 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. 1033 4th Avenue Brockway, PA 15824. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at St. Tobias Church also in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Harrisburg area on a date to be determined. Although flowers are appreciated, Memorial Donations to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania or St. Tobias Church 1135 Hewitt Street Brockway, PA 15824 are preferred.
