Judith Ann Scarnati

Judith Ann Scarnati, age 78 of Erie, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday June 9, 2018.  She was born in Brockway, PA on April 20, 1940 a daughter of the late John and Agnes T. Rendos Scarnati.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Judy graduated from Brockway Area High School and furthered her education at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education.  She taught French and Spanish for many years in the Lewistown School District, retiring in 1997.  In her retirement she moved to Erie in 1998 to be closer to her family.  She enjoyed reading, shopping and going to dinner with her nieces and loved her dogs Sasha and Greta.  Judy is survived by one brother, John (Gretchen) Scarnati of Erie; two nephews Sean and Stephen Scarnati; two nieces, Theresa and Victoria Scarnati and numerous cousins and extended family. Friends may call at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. 1033 4th Ave. Brockway, PA 15824, on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the prayer service there at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mengle Memorial Library 324 Main St. Brockway, PA 15824
