Jack Lindemuth Obituary

Jack L. “Black Jack” Lindemuth age 72 of Hazen, PA; died on Saturday September 29, 2018 at his residence after a year and a half battle with metastatic prostrate cancer. Born at the family homestead in Hazen on July 1, 1946 he was the youngest child of the late Jay R. “Daddy Jay” and Mildred I. “Mother Muth” Reynolds Lindemuth.  On April 6, 1963 he was married to his high school sweet heart Patricia Lundblad Lindemuth and she survives. They have been married 55 ½ years and have lived most of their married life in Hazen. He was Methodist by faith. Retired Jack had been employed at Brockway Pressed Metals for 35 years. He was a lifetime member of the Warsaw Twp. Vol. Fire Department. He along with the late Harvey Uplinger barbequed the chicken for the Hazen Flea Market for many many years. In the 1970’s Jack raced at the Hummingbird Speedway and later served as the Pit Steward at the track and then as Flag Man. He also assisted at the Thunder Mountain Speedway until July 8th of this year. Jack enjoyed watching all sports of TV, but he really enjoyed watching his kids, grandsons and nephews play baseball, basketball, football, soccer and helped all of them anyway he could when it came to racing. He was always willing to lend a hand or help anyone in need. He also enjoyed mowing his lawn and sitting on his swing waving to passing traffic. Jack enjoying the simple things in life, family gatherings and spoiling his grandchildren. The candy jar was never empty and the pop fridge was always full.  In addition to his wife he is also survived by a daughter Dana Kay (Scott) Swanson of Brockway; 2 sons: David H. (Karen) Lindemuth of Hazen and Dale L. Lindemuth of Beechwoods; a brother Richard C. “Dick” (Marge) Lindemuth of Hazen, PA; a step brother Terry Hartzell of Hazen, PA; a step siser Judy Czifra of Calabash, North Carolina; grandchildren Zachary Scott Lindemuth of Beechwoods, Brandon John Lindemuth of Sligo, PA; Ezra Zane and Jeremy Philip Swanson both of Brockway, Joelle Leech and Brian Leech both of Falls Creek; a great granddaughter Lily Orrin Clark daughter of Zachary Lindemuth and several nieces, nephews and many friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Leona Lockwood Reitz and Etta Rose Doane 4 brothers: Clarence H; Floyd R; Kenneth J; and M. Dale Lindemuth. Calling hours will be on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 2 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Nagele and Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Hahne Cancer Center 100 Hospital Avenue DuBois, PA 15801
