George L. “Spike” Bruno Jr. age 83 of Brockway, PA; passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Highland View Health Care in Brockway. Born on June 14, 1934 in Kittanning, PA; he was the first born son of the late George L. and Matilda “Tillie” Judice Bruno. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a truck driver, and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Spike was an automobile enthusiast, loving all types of cars from antiques to racing cars. He is survived by a daughter Cora Rieg of DuBois, and a son Gary (Karen) Bruno of East Bend, North Carolina. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren Jamie Corbin and Justin Rieg; 3 great grandchildren Madalynn Jewell Rieg, Mark Corbin, Mackenzie Corbin; a sister Maurice (Frank) Krajewski of Reynoldsville, PA and a brother Richard (Anne) Bruno of Brockway. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Lundberg. There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 11:00 AM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.  Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 1100 Liberty Avenue Suite E-201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
