Dorothea "Dottie" Potts

Dorothea M. “Dottie” Potts age 67 of Allen Way Brockway, PA; died on Saturday October 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on February 8, 1950 in Nu Mine, PA; she was the daughter of the late William F. and Mary Ann Vendur McCurdy. On August 12, 1967 she was married to John B. Potts Sr. and he survives. Retired, Dottie had been employed at S&T Bank in Brockway as a Teller for 37 years. She is a member at St. Tobias Church in Brockway, and was a member of the Brockway Volunteer Hose Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed going on camping trips with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Dottie enjoyed working in the yard, tending to her rose bushes and flower beds, and building fires in the backyard to visit with family and friends around. In addition to her husband she is also survived by 3 sons: John B. (Mindy) Potts Jr and David A. Potts both of Brockway; Michael J. Potts and fiancé Cathy of Falls Creek, PA; 1 sister: Alfreda A. (Raymond Sr.) Goldinger also of Brockway; 2 brothers: George A. McCurdy and William F. (Karen) McCurdy both of Ridgway, PA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Matthew Marshall, Nykol Potts, Cody Potts, Kristofer Potts, Kalen Potts, Zachary Potts, John Pendleton Jr and Mitchel Ross; 4 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Donna L. Pisarcik and Mary Jean Miller. Calling hours will be on Monday, October 30 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 31 at 9:30 AM at St. Tobias Church in Brockway with Msgr. Charles Kaza presiding. Burial will be in St. Tobias Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held Monday evening at 6:45 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Penn Highlands Hospice or Hahne Cancer Center both sharing the same address 100 Hospital Avenue DuBois, PA 15801.
