Leon A. Nulf age 98 a lifelong Brockport, PA resident (currently a resident at Nelson’s Golden Years in DuBois) died on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on October 23, 1919 in Brockport, he was the son of the late Oscar and Oleta Clark Nulf. On February 21, 1946 he was married to Sarah Evelyn Vivian and she preceded him in death on April 13, 1988. Retired, he had been employed at Brockway Glass as a Machine Operator for 30 years. Leon also owned and operated Nulf’s Radio/TV Repair Shop in Brockport for many years. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran serving in Co G 39th Infantry 9th Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. Leon was a member of the Brockport United Methodist Church and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, canning and especially wine making. He is survived by 2 daughters Patricia (Norman) Bish of Paisley, Florida; Bonnie (Jule) Marche of West Middlesex, PA; 1 Son David A. (Sandra) Nulf of DuBois; 2 sisters Irene Hetrick of Brockport and June Goulding of Camp Hill, PA; 11 grandchildren Jeff Rhed, Danny Rhed, Dustin Nulf, Nicholas Nulf, Summer Nulf, Michelle Raab, Russell Bish, Christina Dougherty, Lisa Eastlick, Adam Marche and Sarah Grosbeck. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a brother Richard Nulf, a sister Vivian Anderson and a grandson Kevin D. Nulf. Calling hours will be on Monday, December 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM Tuesday December 5 also at the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Felt and Pastor Dave Nagele co-officiating. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
