Earlene Stansell

Earlene Stansell age 82 currently a resident at the DuBois Village (formerly of Brockway and Norfolk, VA) died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born on June 4, 1934 in Pearson, GA; she was the daughter of the late Henry and Irene Walker Joiner. She was married to Walter T. Stansell and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1984. Retired, Earlene had been employed as a vending machine attendant. She was an active life member of the VFW Post 3160, The Fleet Reserve Branch 60 and the American Legion Post 327 all located in Ocean View Norfolk, VA. She is survived by a son Walter (Tammy) Stansell of Brockway; two daughters Bess (Matt) Townsend of Discovery Bay, CA and Judy Summerlin of Frederick, MD; one granddaughter Crystal Marie Gloeckner of Virginia Beach; two grandsons Phillip and Jason Jiuliano of Frederick, MD; one great granddaughter Gabriel Jiuliano and two great grandsons Hunter and Beckett Gloeckner. In addition to her parents and her husband she is also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters: Lou Ellen; Buddy; Marietta; Virginia; Benny and Parnell. Earlene is also preceded in death by her life companion after the death of her husband, Charlie Joyner, who died on January 15, 2016. All services will be private at the convenience of her family. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, VA. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post #95 Ladies Auxiliary 1109 Pershing Avenue Brockway, PA 15824.
