Brett A. Smith

Brett A. Smith age 57 of Walburn Run Road Brockway, PA; died on Friday March 23, 2018 at U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born on April 14, 1960 in Kane, PA; he was the son of the late Daniel and Lillian Smith Zimmer. On April 16, 1983 he was married to Mary Banks and she survives. Brett was both a retired and disabled U.S. Army Veteran. He was stationed at Fort Hood Texas and he served during the cold war. He was protestant by faith. He enjoyed working around his house, woodworking, gardening and was an avid, rowdy Steeler fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Annie. In addition to his wife he is also survived by 2 daughters: Sheena (Ryan) Deemer of Brockway; Stacie Smith of Kersey, PA; 1 Son: Elvis Smith of Williamsport, PA; 2 sisters: Shawna (Tom) Callahan of Emporium, PA; a sister Susan and her husband Scott also of Emporium; a brother John (Kim) Smith of Austin, PA; 3 grandchildren Annie Deemer, Mason Smith, Kaden Goodrow and a granddaughter Adriana Rose on the way. There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 11:00 AM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway with Rev. Terry Felt officiating. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Thursday morning at the funeral home.
